International Home Language Day

On Friday 1st March Henry Fawcett will be celebrating International Home Language Day 2019.

On this day we will be talking about how important home languages are and celebrating them! Please can your child bring in an object or word of importance from their language or culture to talk about and share with their class. International Mother Language Day was introduced in 2000 by the United Nations to celebrate and promote linguistic and cultural diversity.
We will also be holding a Home Language Breakfast for parents and carers from 9:00am to 10:00am in our Children’s Centre on the day. Please bring a breakfast dish from your language or culture to share with others. We will be providing tea, coffee and juices along with some breakfast items. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you on the day. Why don’t you join us at 10:00am for our Parent Forum?
Don’t know your Roblox from your Minecraft? Want to find out why your children love Snapchat and WhatsApp? There will be a session for pupils at 9:00am and from 1:00am we’re holding a FREE session for parents and carers to help you feel more confident about what your children do online, and learn how you can help protect them from some of the dangers and risks. The session will be run by Parent Zone, the leading experts in providing information to parents on the digital world.
